Rehabilitate the Zoo.
I know the animals at Manila Zoo are in a bad state. But PETA’s over-exaggerated actions calling on people to boycott the zoo will only make things worse. Two things: 1) most of these animals were bred in captivity, and they wouldn’t have survived if the conditions are as bad as they make it out to be, 2) this is the Philippines and, frankly speaking, a lot of Filipinos don’t care for animals.
It’s not a government facility, and kids are losing interest in animals. You can’t expect the zoo to make enough money to sustain what’s there. Inform the public and get people involved, and rehabilitate and expand the zoo, or find partners.
But hey, that’s just my opinion.
